The album’s about an intrigue in which workers and superiors are wrapped up. It’s about the struggle for freedom and relief.
The overall theme’s inspired by Metropolis (Fritz Lang, 1927) and Schule der Diktatoren by Erich Kästner (1956).
Possible influeneces are: Friends, Nature, Life, Books, Comics, ...
Muscial influences are: Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield, Neu!, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Ashra Temple, Popol Vuh, Bach, ...
Musical character: Ambient-Metal-Drone-Soundtrack with a touch of Electronica...
It’s headphone music and it’s „Kopfkino“ (mental cinema) in a good way.
Dadanaut’s hunt for falling stars ...
It’s about watching the sky, counting clouds, having a nap or mental leaps (mind flickerings), thinking about the world and having conversations about everything and nothing. Well, without vocals. Just the song titles are talking. The rest is „Kopfkino“.
Dadanaut’s something like a Johnny Head-in-the-Air. That’s all.
The genre isn’t clear (as always). It’s alternative, psychedelic-rock, ambient, ... we can’t decide. It’s up to the listener.
Dadanaut auf Reise
Dadanaut has been on a short trip around the world. Visiting some friends here and there. On his way back his camera fell over board. What a pity. So he packed the memories he’s got from this trip into songs. Now they bring back the landscapes, moments and encounters instead. At least in his mind.
A pleasant experience. Hopefully for you too...
Dadanaut und der seltsame Radiator
Disturbances at night. Preventing one’s deep sleep. So there’s sometimes only slumber ... and some drinks too much.
Dadanaut und die Teppichgeister
It’s about memories and moments. Mostly childhood memories. Things you can find in the attic and those things are full of surprises. Light and shadows paint funny and yet strange pictures. You build custom gadgets and play with them. You read in comic books ... other books too. They smell old and dusty. You jump around on mattresses and all this dust finds his way around and on everything... waves of dust on carpets.
Dadanaut und die Schubladenerinnerungen
Songs from the archives. Maybe from 2008 to 2011. Mostly from the Katharinen-Sessions. Worth to be heard ... again.
Some of them got refreshed with new sounds and some parts got deleted. And some of them have vocals ... well, just one. Two others have storytellers in it.
Some of them are psychedelic collages.
Some of them are inspirational, classical, folky, rock songs, electronica stylish, ambient, ambient drones, jams, very raw ... and all aren’t mastered. Just a bit mixed.
This album is a wonderful hotchpotch and witness of a time period.
The music is equally headphone music.
